UI/UX Programmer

Michael Jared Software Inc.

Location: Canada · Remote

Posted on November 12, 2025

Description

As the Godot developer responsible for UI (user-interface) and UX (user experience) integration, you will work closely with the UI Designer to implement mockups, ensuring that the UI is dynamic, scales at all resolutions (from 1280x800 for Steam Deck, all the way up to 4k). You will also be working with the lead programmer to implement in-game UI systems for inventory management, crafting tables, and heads-up-displays.

Responsiblities:

  • Integrate UI assets developed by the UI designer. This may include integrating image or vector files
  • Test UI screens thoroughly, iterate on them, and make suggestions to the UI designer as well as the lead programmer
  • Ensure work is organized, clean and follows naming conventions
  • Iterate and refine UX code based on direction from senior programmer and UI designer
  • Perform other work in-engine as needed, which may fall outside the UI system (this should not happen often)

Requirements:

  • A strong portfolio, showcasing past games developed in Godot, with a particular focus on UI development
  • Past studio or freelance work preferred on resume
  • Experience with source control (Git). Very comfortable with using branches to test your changes and submitting Pull Requests to get features merged

How to Apply?

Send an email to studio@michaeljared.ca with a link to your portfolio, and your resume attached.

All positions require a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in the games industry in some capacity.

Preference is given to Canadian developers due to funding requirements, but if you are located outside of Canada it is still possible you can work in this role.

These roles are currently being hired in advance of confirmed funding. A Letter of Intent will be signed by both parties for peace of mind. Contract offers are conditional upon the studio's successful funding application, with work expected to begin mid November 2025.
